We are your hosts, Brendan and Angie, and we would like to give you a little insight into our dream…
We met our first year at the University of Vermont and have been spending as much time as possible together since. For both of us the travel bug took it’s hold early and has only strengthened with the passing of time. We were off to Spain and Italy to study abroad our Junior year of college and it was during that time exploring the great world became a priority for both of us.
We figured after graduating there was no better way to enjoy our new degrees than to travel in Asia and so after saving up over the summer, we entered the different worlds of China, southeast Asia and India for a 6 month journey. It was in Cambodia that we decided we would spend the next winter in Peru, and so off we went to the Amazon the following year.
There we began entertaining the idea of owning a guesthouse (what better way to sustain the international experience?) and as the dream quickly turned into a goal we started to plan our mission. We decided on Central America and hit the bumpy roads of Latin America once again to search for a perfect spot to open a guesthouse.
After months of traveling, excitement and disappointment, we found ourselves in the gorgeous beach town of Playa Chiquita looking at newly constructed caribbean bungalows. The place was incredible and we knew immediately we had to find a way to make it work. We cracked open our Business Plans for Dummies book (honestly) and got busy.
Six weeks later, after a whirlwind of events, we were the proud owners of beautiful Tierra de Sueños.
